Born and raised in Maine, Kristen believes that good design, like good art, should be accessible to everyone. She approaches her work with a focus on thoughtful, stirring spaces that bring joy and ease to the everyday.

While Kristen has always had an intuitive draw towards design and architecture, she started her journey in design with a focus on art. After earning a degree in Studio Art with a concentration in painting from Hartwick College, she moved west to Lake Tahoe, California. Here, Kristen found that being near the inconceivably blue lake waters, the towering sequoias, and the rugged peaks made it clear she needed to create interior spaces that reflected these elements. She spent four years apprenticing at a design firm, before attending the Academy of Art University, San Francisco’s Interior Architecture and Design program.

Today, Kristen finds herself back in Maine, delighting in rediscovering the small familiarities of these stony shores and craggy forests. Dark waters, forest floors bedded in pine needles, lichen, moss and seaweed textures—our natural world is what informs Kristen’s designs.

Since returning to Maine, Kristen gained experience with several Interior Design and Architecture firms in the Portland area before venturing out on her own. With a focus on bathrooms and kitchens, she brings a joyfulness of place, nature, and home to all of her projects.

Kristen is happy to jump in and guide any facet of your home’s redesign or renovation. With many industry connections in sourcing, including appliances, cabinetry, hardware, fixtures and finishes she would love to help you in whatever phase of the process you find yourself!
